ABOUT JENNIFER
Hello!
My name is Jennifer, and I am a California transplant from the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I came to the Bay Area in late 2018 to start a new journey.
From an early age, I was immersed in the world of natural medicine – including my mother running an herbal distribution business from our home. I was on the receiving end of experimenting with all kinds of naturally based products, different dietary plans (including making our own almond milk!) and home remedies. I still remember the smell of honey-onion brew cooking on the stove that was supposed to ease those sore throats.
I was always surrounded by animals, and grew up with both a love of nature and rescuing things. I still remember “rescuing” earthworms (from underneath the flooded mats on our patio) and trying to put them back in the flooded lawn…
I grew up with a menagerie of pets, but have always had a special place in my heart for cats. I currently have a rescued Savannah and beautiful domestic grey tabby living with me.
After my High School graduation, I spent some time working until I felt confident of the direction I wanted to pursue. I had spent several years in customer service and hospitality, and had a very creative and entrepreneurial drive. I loved working with my hands, and knew l wanted to do something to give back to others – to really make a difference in the world around me.
I had been gifted my very first massage when I was 16 years old, and had severe allergy symptoms. The therapist was excellent, and had integrated in some lymphatic drainage work. Within a few days, my allergy symptoms cleared up, and I was floored.
Later on, I got into my first car accident, and had totaled my car (oops!). I started receiving injury-related massage therapy twice a week, and it was a very helpful aid in my recovery.
Again, about a year and-a-half later, I injured my right arm while bracing some furniture. My shoulder locked up, and I wasn’t able to move it. I reached out to my previous massage therapist unsure that a session would bring any relief, but at least I would try. She got me in immediately, and within one session I was almost completely back to normal. From that day onward, I was permanently sold on massage therapy being a valuable part of my life.
I moved to Colorado a few years later, to discover my own path and create a life for myself. While I was looking for a college major to pursue, I stumbled across the Denver School of Massage Therapy. They had convenient, affordable, massage therapy sessions offered at the school student clinic.
I promptly scheduled a massage, and was so impressed by the quality of the service, that an idea came to me. What would it take for me to become a massage therapist myself? I had never explored that opportunity before. I decided to make an appointment with the school admissions office, and this path fit me like a glove! I quickly knew that I wanted to give back and help others in the same way that I had been helped in the years before.
I decided to focus in on the injury and Structural Bodywork/rebalancing classes that were offered, along with a solid knowledge of anatomy. I was able to graduate in 2013 – with honors – in my newfound passion. I quickly got a job at a local chiropractor where I began using my training to help aid patients in their recovery. From there, I gained additional experience working at another chiropractic office, along with a year spent at a physical therapy office.
With that experience, I have been able to successfully work with a wide variety of restrictions and injuries, including whiplash from car accidents, neck issues/headaches, shoulder pain, low back pain and knee issues. I also find great joy in helping rebalance the body through structural bodywork techniques. Working from a holistic, integrative mindset is what I aim to present in every session.
I would love to get the chance to know you, and to present how what I have to offer can help your body. Please reach out to me for a session consultation – and let’s see where this journey will take us!
In Health and Hope,
