ABOUT JENNIFER

Hello!

My name is Jennifer, and I am a California transplant from the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I came to the Bay Area in late 2018 to start a new journey.

From an early age, I was immersed in the world of natural medicine – including my mother running an herbal distribution business from our home. I was on the receiving end of experimenting with all kinds of naturally based products, different dietary plans (including making our own almond milk!) and home remedies. I still remember the smell of honey-onion brew cooking on the stove that was supposed to ease those sore throats.

I was always surrounded by animals, and grew up with both a love of nature and rescuing things. I still remember “rescuing” earthworms (from underneath the flooded mats on our patio) and trying to put them back in the flooded lawn…

I grew up with a menagerie of pets, but have always had a special place in my heart for cats. I currently have a rescued Savannah and beautiful domestic grey tabby living with me.

After my High School graduation, I spent some time working until I felt confident of the direction I wanted to pursue. I had spent several years in customer service and hospitality, and had a very creative and entrepreneurial drive. I loved working with my hands, and knew l wanted to do something to give back to others – to really make a difference in the world around me.

I had been gifted my very first massage when I was 16 years old, and had severe allergy symptoms. The therapist was excellent, and had integrated in some lymphatic drainage work. Within a few days, my allergy symptoms cleared up, and I was floored.

Later on, I got into my first car accident, and had totaled my car (oops!). I started receiving injury-related massage therapy twice a week, and it was a very helpful aid in my recovery.

Again, about a year and-a-half later, I injured my right arm while bracing some furniture. My shoulder locked up, and I wasn’t able to move it. I reached out to my previous massage therapist unsure that a session would bring any relief, but at least I would try. She got me in immediately, and within one session I was almost completely back to normal. From that day onward, I was permanently sold on massage therapy being a valuable part of my life.

I moved to Colorado a few years later, to discover my own path and create a life for myself. While I was looking for a college major to pursue, I stumbled across the Denver School of Massage Therapy. They had convenient, affordable, massage therapy sessions offered at the school student clinic.

I promptly scheduled a massage, and was so impressed by the quality of the service, that an idea came to me. What would it take for me to become a massage therapist myself? I had never explored that opportunity before. I decided to make an appointment with the school admissions office, and this path fit me like a glove! I quickly knew that I wanted to give back and help others in the same way that I had been helped in the years before.

I decided to focus in on the injury and Structural Bodywork/rebalancing classes that were offered, along with a solid knowledge of anatomy. I was able to graduate in 2013 – with honors – in my newfound passion. I quickly got a job at a local chiropractor where I began using my training to help aid patients in their recovery. From there, I gained additional experience working at another chiropractic office, along with a year spent at a physical therapy office.

With that experience, I have been able to successfully work with a wide variety of restrictions and injuries, including whiplash from car accidents, neck issues/headaches, shoulder pain, low back pain and knee issues. I also find great joy in helping rebalance the body through structural bodywork techniques. Working from a holistic, integrative mindset is what I aim to present in every session.

I would love to get the chance to know you, and to present how what I have to offer can help your body. Please reach out to me for a session consultation – and let’s see where this journey will take us!

In Health and Hope,
Jennifer Rogers – MMP, CMT #78446

I’ve been seeing Jennifer for several years now, and she’s quite literally the best massage therapist I have ever had.  I first came to Jennifer several years ago with major back pain caused from knots all alongside the right side of my back from always carrying my kids on the right side!  I had gone to multiple other massage therapists, but all others would only provide temporary relief or even make it worse somehow.  Jennifer patiently listened to my concerns and essentially worked on my back like I had sustained a sports injury.  It’s been incredible.  My back and body have never felt as good, even in my teens and twenties.  Jennifer is always so attune with my body and is always able to find and address my concerns.  Her curiosity and passion for massage is incredible, too.  She is constantly researching new and innovative techniques and tools to help her clients.  Lately, the cupping has taken the massages to the next level.  I’m very grateful for what Jennifer’s been able to give me through her massage therapy skills, namely to live in my body without constant tightness and pain!

I have been working with Jennifer for about a year now and have been so very pleased with my improved health. Like others, I thought massage was self indulgent, something you enjoyed at the spa once a year. I never considered medical-based massage until a therapist pointed out that I was a perfect candidate for this therapy, and felt that it would be very helpful towards my recovery. She was absolutely right, and so my journey with Jennifer began.

Jennifer is passionate about her profession and has a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the human body. This understanding comes not only from her training, but from her personal experiences. She always asks how you’re feeling and not only listens, but addresses those concerns in each session. My progress started very slowly due to years of chronic dysfunction, but has continued to improve every month. I’m so pleased to be at a place where I can still enjoy an active and fulfilling life. Many, many thanks Jennifer!

I have suffered for more than a year with debilitating pain in my right hand and arm. I’ve spent into the thousands of dollars with various different doctors trying to find relief and restoration. In one visit with Jennifer I experienced more mobility and less pain than with all the doctors in the months and months prior! I wouldn’t have believed it had I not experienced it. I’m an enthusiastic fan of her skill and expertise!

Jennifer is professional, talented, sincere and thorough.

It is with great pleasure that I write this testimonial for Jennifer Rogers/Hands of Hope Massage Therapy. As a medical professional with a focus on biomechanics and sports medicine, I see a good amount of pathology which is due to muscle/tendon imbalance and I frequently refer patients for medical massage/physical therapy.

Correcting these imbalances essentially boils down to understanding the anatomy, releasing the contracted muscles/tendons while strengthening the weaker muscles/tendons, and educating the patient on how to maintain the results of their treatment.

Where Jennifer stands out is in her comprehensive knowledge of muscle/tendon imbalance and biomechanics, which enable her to identify the underlying pathology and address that pathology effectively.

As a referring physician, I feel confident in sending my patients, many of whom have exhausted multiple treatment options with minimal success, to Hands of Hope and their feedback to me has been overwhelmingly positive.

As a client, I have been impressed with Jennifer’s approach to managing my own rotator cuff injury and piriformis syndrome.

I recommend Jennifer without reservation.

Jennifer is an excellent massage therapist. She was recommended to me, she’s worked on me and my son, and I’ve referred others to her who have all been very pleased. Jennifer helped me with a chronic wrist/forearm issue I was having. Several treatments really made a difference and helped it clear up, allowing me to work without pain. My son’s chronic, post-concussion headaches were also significantly helped with Jennifer’s massages. She is gentle and yet as deep as she needs to be. She’s detailed and yet also can do full-body massages. She is ethical, honest, talented, respectful and reliable. I have no hesitation referring anyone to Jennifer. She is wonderful to work with.

Jennifer is such a kind and knowledgeable individual, who truly cares about her clients well being both physically and holistically. Her hands are magical whether it’s for a relaxing Swedish massage or body aches and pain. When I had an upper back issue, after 2 sessions I was already in so much relief. She is the absolute best!

After a year of regular visits with Jennifer, my body feels amazing! My lower extremity issues have vastly improved and I have much greater mobility and stamina for many physical activities (hiking, skiing, surfing, etc). Plus, I am sleeping better! And recently I added “mobile cupping” to my bodywork sessions, which has really supercharged the results. I’m so grateful to Jennifer – her services have truly changed my life.

Jennifer Rogers is an outstanding therapist whose expertise in microscopic massage techniques has been life-changing for me. Despite seeking help from various specialists for my hand and shoulder pain, it was Jennifer’s skillful approach that finally brought relief. Her ability to identify and address knots, scar tissue, and other complications is unmatched. I wholeheartedly recommend Jennifer for anyone seeking effective and personalized care.

Jennifer is an exceptional massage therapist. She is kind, caring and thoughtful. She takes time to listen to you about what’s going on in your body and writes notes so she remembers what you’ve told her. Plus, she is very intuitive and finds spots to work on that you didn’t realize were causing the issue. I’m so grateful I’ve found her, she’s made a huge difference in my life. My mobility is much improved and my pain is significantly reduced. I highly recommend her!

Jennifer Rogers is a fantastically talented massage therapist. She not only has wonderful technique, but is also uniquely attuned to her clients’ bodies, with an ability to identify your problem areas and make them feel so much better! I had torn my ACL and meniscus. Jennifer was wonderful in helping relieve my pain and successfully heal the injury. She is caring and attentive and I highly recommend her to anyone recovering from injuries, or just to feel better and more relaxed.
